Abstract
The emergence of the digital era has transformed education, requiring teachers to adapt their pedagogical strategies and embrace lifelong professional development. This paper examines Teacher Professional Development (TPD) in the context of digital transformation, focusing on opportunities, challenges, and sustainable strategies. It employs a conceptual approach by reviewing existing literature and synthesizing findings relevant to current global educational trends. A brief Islamic perspective highlights the importance of lifelong learning and ethical responsibility, emphasizing that teacher development is not only a technical requirement but also a moral duty. The findings suggest that while digital technologies provide flexible, personalized, and global opportunities for TPD, issues of equity, motivation, institutional support, and moral example remain critical barriers. The paper concludes that sustainable TPD requires systemic support, blended models, professional learning communities, and integration of ethical frameworks grounded in Islamic values.
