Abstract

Amidst the challenges of a dynamic digital era, a leadership approach centered on human values became crucial
for fostering student character characterized by independence, empathy, and integrity. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of humanistic educational leadership in shaping the character of Generation Z students at Kumnamu Junior High School. The study employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, with the principal, teachers, and student representatives, as well as school activity documentation. Data analysis was performed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that humanistic leadership at Kumnamu Junior High School was implemented through three main pillars: (1) creating a dialogical and inclusive school environment; (2) prioritizing an empathetic personal approach in teacher-student interactions; and (3) integrating character development into every learning process that humanized students in accordance with the unique characteristics of Generation Z. This practice proved effective in enhancing students' intrinsic motivation, building a culture of mutual respect, and cultivating ethical awareness among students. The study concluded that the humanistic leadership style made a significant contribution to the transformation of student character, making it a relevant leadership model for modern educational institutions.
